![]() ![]() Anyways the name of studiopolis zone itself is a reference to a studio in LA which does the English versions of sonic the hedgehog and sonic boom series and it also bears the same name which is studiopolis but this is not an intentional Easter egg however as the team was unaware of this studio even existing and when they found out about this they thought of other names like opening night and fame plaza before eventually settling on studiopolis zoneĨ. At the back of the act 1 boss you can see subway trains with the words COPE and CPU which are a reference to spring yard zone in sonic 1 where these words can be seen but still don't know what these words mean though but whatever maybe we'll never knowħ. Ok so the next one is a very obscure Easter egg in which there some street lights and in which you can see some circular round shapes and these are actually a reference to an unused item in sonic 1 in which they were repurposed UFOsĦ. Well first off it is actually sega tv which was a mock pirate television station and second sega pirate tv is the text which can be seen on sega tv ads and this is one of the more ingenious and brilliant Easter eggs in this game and also you can see the words egg tv on the billboards of the buildings in the background so maybe this is a reference to the sega tv station in real life who knows oh and there's also posters of egg tvĥ. Now everyone knows about genesis does slogan which was a marketing slogan to show that the genesis does what nintendont, welcome to the nex level is a reference to another slogan used for marketing but for some reason next is shown as nex and you may be asking to yourself what is eggman pirate tv. Speaking of flipping cards, there a lot of these in studiopolis zone which reveal a lot of references which are the previously mentioned lock on technology, genesis does, welcome to the nex level and eggman pirate tv. There are a lot of Easter eggs involving these neon light billboards which have the words GOOD GREAT AWESOME OUTSTANDING AMAZING which is the previous one we talked about, LOCK -ON TECHNOLOGY which was an exclusive feature used in sonic 3 and sonic and knuckles,BY THE MANIA FOR THE MANIA which is a nod to a catchphrase by Takashi Iizuka during the development of this game and TO BE THIS GOOD TAKES AGES.TO BE THIS GOOD TAKES SEGA is a reference to a tag line used in ads for the mega driveĤ. When you go this a specific area you can see a really cool reference to sonic colors where the billboard with neon lights says good great awesome outstanding amazing which is of course a reference to the tricks you had to do in colors I mean who doesn't have these words engraved in to their minds if they played colors but not for the bad reasonsģ. ![]() It's actually a cool nod to an obscure sonic game.Ģ. ![]() The sega sonic popcorn shop that you will encounter later in the level is not something made exclusively in this game it is actually a clever reference to an arcade game in Japan which goes by the same name in which you order a popcorn with three flavours salted, butter or curry and play a mini game on the screen while the popcorn is still being made.
